Local solutions to global problems

After researching and listening to experts on the topics of immigration, internal migration and child labor, what do you think we should do locally? In what ways can the class help address these global issues in Guatemala?

I think first, we have to have the people around us and our community informed about the problems we face today. We have to spread awareness so that people understand the problems and so that others can also partake in helping address the issues in Guatemala.
For starters, I think we need to first spread the information to people near us. We could make posters and put interesting facts about the topics of immigration, internal migration, and child labor on the web and the daily bulleting so that students and teachers alike can be informed of the problems we face.

I agree with Clara, we should start with the CM community and expand throughout Guatemala.

I agree with Clara. We should try to inform about the problems we face today. But we should also start learning more about the problems we face so we can understand how we can help solve the problems in the future...

I agree with Clara. I think before we start helping in community service we should learn more about this issue and become "experts" so we can be more useful.

I agree with everyone. We should make people aware around us first then slowly spread the awarness so the whole Guatemalan society can help. We need to have a basic knowledge of the issue before we start acting.

The top priority we should be concerned about is awarness. We have to spread the ideas and news about these problems in order to get people more aware of them. This way, we can unify and try to stop the problem together, because we cant do it on our own. The class can address the problems by informing some sort of authority and because we just recently got a new president, we could write a letter to him with our concerns.

I don't think we heard enough on immigration, but since everyone else is agreeing with clara, I guess I will too. We need to learn more about the topic like Mr. Kayayan said, become more aware, and spread the awareness.

I agree with Clara. Most people in Guatemala don't know the problems that we face such as Immigration, child labor, and internal migration. In order to help, we have to understand and know what the problem is. We should spread the problems to more people in Guate so that we can help solve the problems.

I agree with Clara, I think we should make the authorities and government here in Guatemala aware of the problems they're facing and also make aware Guatemalan citizens of the issue.

I agree with Clara. First, people should know how bad is the problem such as immigration, internal migration, and child labor, so people can think about helping them. If they know more, they could help such people in better ways...

There may not be many things that we can do that will change the problem fast. But as other people said we can spread the issue so that more people become involved.

I agree with clara, starting small, and in your own community is better. raising awareness will definelty help. Amen
