Child prostitution because I am a juvenile. I could never imagine myself being sold to other people for sexual pleasure.

Thanks Kyle. Did the round table on Friday reinforce your opinion or change it? Why?

Yes, indeed. I was surprised that youths under the age of 10 were already in the human market in Guatemala. I can't imagine my self being sold.

One of the visitors argued that investing more in rural areas will reduce forced migration. He also mentioned the government should be involved in this issue. My questions are: how will the government contribute? what laws/institution/aid can they provide that literally gives jobs to people? is the Guatemalan government capable of doing it?

The most interesting thing that I learned in Global Issues so far is that sometimes children actually decide themselves to work and not go to school. I used to think all child labor was forced, but in Friday I understood that sometimes children decide to work because they don’t have any better alternatives.

The most interesting thing I learned so far was the fact that I could help out with all the problems we face today. Before, I thought that all these problems seemed impossible for me to help out in. But like what Kyle said, I learned I could help out by investing more in rural areas to reduce internal migration.

The most interesting thing that I have learned so far would be the amount of children that are actually working and missing out on proper education and fun. I just can't imagine myself missing school and not enjoying my time with friends, but that is what a lot of kids my age do, probably over 50 percent of them work in order to survive, and that's probably the only reason they live and work, to survive.

The most interesting/important thing that I learned in Global Issues was the fact that there are thousands of problems in the world today, large and small, and that each of them have a significance and that each of them need to be solved. I know this seems kind of obvious, but I think its important because if we just try to solve the big problems, then the small problems will become big and it will become a vicious cycle.

I think probably child prostitution because i could become one, or i could be exposed to it.

I think one of the most important things I have learned is that human trafficking was such a big problem; I hadn't realized it was.

The most interesting thing that I have learned in Global Issues so far is the issue of child soldiers. I can't imagine being forced to fight in an army. It suprises me that kids from the ages of 10 and up are either forced or made to believe that violence is the answer.

The most important thing that I have learned so far in the Global Issues class is that many of the problems that the world is facing today are because of the lack of honest and responsible governments in countries where these problems occur.
And that the first thing we need to do to fix or improve these problems would be to make know these problems to authorities and governments all over the world, but most importantly the citizens of such countries.

The most important thing that I have learned in Global Issues so far is hunger in the world because I found this site that shows people who just died for hunger every time. And the number of death increased a lot every time. So I could know how bad is the hunger problem in the world.

I think its child labor. After researching the information on child labor, millions of children in Guatemala start working at a young age. They don't get education nor receive a lot of salary because they are young.
Young children should start getting education instead of working.

The most important thing that I have learned is class so far are the ways how I can help to end child labor. First I thought I couldn't do anything to help in this problem. However, after listening to the experts I understood that now what I can do to help is learn about child labor so in the future I can know more about this issue to help solving it.
